Broncos and the staff - Welcome inside the Cross Insurance Arena along with Abby Hassen.
My name is Rob Kennedy.
Purple is the color of royalty kind of feeling.
We have Eson Hamed Academy here tonight.
Someone wears a crown for the entire state and Class A when this game is over with.
- Yep.
Yeah, a couple of defensive juggernauts going at it tonight to see who can pull it out when that goal fall.
- Now you're telling me defense is going to be the key to this game tonight.
That's what the lead up has been for both of these two teams.
It's all about trying to stop.
The other team might have a low scoring game here tonight perhaps.
- Yeah.
Yeah, I mean if, if all goes to Plan, Hamden wants to keep this one low, obviously CHS wants to get out and get going, get that defense, that offensive power going so we'll see who gets going first.
- Mike Lebinski is our sideline reporter here tonight.
We can send it down to him.
He is standing by with him and Academy coach Nick win Winchester.
Let's set it down to the floor - T-shirt.
What are your expectations for this game and what do you want to see from your girls?
- I wanna see the same thing that I saw for them in the Northern Main Tournament against Camden Hills and Mount Ara.
Those two games and the two efforts they put forward, those games are good enough to get us where we want to go, so I just wanna see them come out, play loose, play free, and be aggressive.
- So much of what Shavers does runs through Kylie Lampson.
Say, - Say again.
- So much of what Shavers does runs through Kylie Lampson.
How do you plan to stop her?
- Look, she's gonna score points.
That's just how the game is gonna go.
But we're just gonna try to make everything she does difficult so that maybe we could make her work harder than she has or maybe we can get a few breaks that way.
But ultimately our defense has been our calling car all tournament.
Hopefully we can contain her a little bit and that'll give us a little bit of a break on the offense events if we don't have to score as much.
Alright, - Good luck coach guys, back to you.
- Thank you.
That's exactly what the Hammered Academy Broncos have done.
They have limited scoring and they've taken on some star players in the regional tournament to be able to able to shut them down.
You have a look at their scorelines overall, they've won all three of their games.
41 points was the high watermark.
So defense has absolutely been the key to the game for the Broncos as we look at their stats, - Yeah, they really had a tough game against Mount Arat and they had to play their best against a high power Mount Arat team and they did, you know, so I'm sure they're excited for this challenge against Shere.
Mention - Number 21, Aubrey Shaw the player to watch.
He won the Bob Whitlock award.
That's a class attorney most valuable player averaged 12.3 points a game in that tournament overall on the she Stagg side.
No stranger to being here is their third straight trip to the state finals, their fourth and five season.
No surprise with Billy Goodman at the helm.
He's certainly got a resume of a a tremendous success.
Let's set it down to Billy Good right now.
- What did you see - From the girls throughout the tournament - So - Far and what do you want to see - Tonight?
Yeah, MI t's been focused, they've been playing good D we just gotta get off to a, hopefully a better start.
Get some shots going and that would help - Six four.
Grace LaBree on the other team.
What type of challenges might she pose?
- Yeah, she's a good player.
She's can move.
We've, we've been practicing against girls like Destiny Peter, and so you know, we just figured we're we're facing another good post player.
- Thanks coach.
- Thank - To you - Guys Stag's at 20 and one.
We can take a look at their road to this game here tonight in third straight trip to the state finals.
And again, this is a team that scores a ton of points and Kylie Lampson and Miss Maine basketball Finals.
She's the Class A South tournament MVP.
So you got some marquee players in this game.
Yeah, - Kylie Lampson had a dynamite tournament run, especially in that last game.
She reminds me a lot of a player from Bedford, a former player Lauren Russo plays with a chip on her shoulder, likes the spotlight, really plays with a lot of energy.
- 19.3 points is what she averaged in the regional tournament.
She's gonna look for a big game here tonight as well.
And as Coach Witches has said, she's gonna get her points.
Just try to find a way to limit that.
Let's send it across the way and meet the Broncos and the stags here tonight.
Good evening - And welcome to Cross Insurance Arena for the 2026 main state basketball championships presented by Hammond Lumber Company.
Tonight's first game is the Girls Class, a state championship between North Champion Hampton Academy and South Champion Chev Stags.
We'd like to recognize the people that make this happen behind the scenes.
Our timer, Scott St.
Our scoreboard, Kelly Laco Scorekeeper, Ellen Durgan and music coordinator tonight is Jacob Hodgkin.
Before introducing the players and coaches, we'd like to take a moment to recognize our officials across Maine.
There's a shortage of officials in every sport.
We ask you.
Welcome the three we have with us for this game.
Without them there would be no events for our student athletes in Maine, so please join me in welcoming Joel Paula OUIs, Tom Ray and Chad g Grham.
Thank you gentlemen.

He's assisted by Chad Bradbury.
Lauren Voer, the managers are Abby Gregor, Izzy Crumble, Avery Light, Alex Hopkins, Kaylin Hersey and Eby Turner CH High School's head coaches.
Bill Goodman assisted by Bill Whitmore, Carolyn Freeman, Lily Singleton and the manager is Amira Aliza.
And now if you can please rise and remove your hats for the singing of our national anthem by Chevs High school student Ellie Kovich.
- Woo.
Can you see the light?
What's so proud at the who brought Stripes and Bright Stars through the the so the Rockets burst that span the and - Ready Radio here at the Cross Insurance arena as we get set to Goman Hammered Academy in both of these two teams made it to this level last year, both in the state finals.
Both were defeated in those two games.
So both have been on a mission overall and that's been really kinda the key to the season.
Trying to get back here and take that extra step.
- Yeah, I'm really looking, looking forward to this game.
It's a couple high powered offenses, I mean off defenses but I'll be really, really interested to see who gets going first.
You - Look at the keys to the game, we'll start with him.
Academy over there on the left.
Physicality and just comfort is what Nick Winchester wants to do.
- Yeah, they're gonna have to, they're gonna have to push Chevs up so that they can't get clean looks at the rim.
Certainly not from the high school.
Three point line - On the Chevs side.
The fast start again.
They have that stifling defense as well.
Yeah, - They certainly do.
They're known in the south their defense and I'm sure they're going to really try and push that early tonight.
- Chev is technically the home team here tonight down in Portland.
All the southern teams here will be wearing the home Whites Henry Academy in the purples.
Grace Lare is all set to jump.
She'll take on Rachel LaSalle for Chev as the ball goes in the air.
The class a state championship 2026 is underway.
Emer Academy starts with the basketball and Eve wiles.
Naya Studley had an outstanding regional tournaments.
Wiles won the award for the - MVP and she just you wide.
Yeah they can't lose her and certainly can't let her get going early.
But that's a nice shot off the great pass - Re pointer right out of the gates.
I was actually Shaw who won the MPP, not wiles.
I'm not surprised I made that mistake.
They're both excellent players and I did mix 'em up a couple of times in the tournament too with those devastating offensive abilities they had.
That was the breed offensively in the paint is this is down low and grabbed by the stags.
Great work on the floor to keep that alive momentarily for Abby Kelly.
Nate Adams handling a basketball.
He's picked up by Kristen King and just a rookie, a 13 out there in whites.
A floating shot - Is good.
There's Shaw.
Yeah, she was waiting for you to say her name so she just wanted to be next - First five points for hammered academy and definitely don't wanna get the stags off and running in the Broncos have done a great job at doing that so far.
In the first minute or so, the out back outside the Kristen King Anna Goodman switching with the right hands went inside on Adams and kissed it off the glass - Tied that backward is not used enough but Anna Goodman just did a really nice little runner out there.
- Iia studly with it.
Also a rookie 7.7 points in the postseason.
Wow it's forced off a tough shot.
There's Studly outside - Gideon boy that same spot Dens really liked the Matt left side.
CH is gonna have to rotate or talk to Coach Goodman and he was really talking how they on the rotations.
- Studly especially that is and has been her spot in the postseason.
Justin King, here's Kylie Lakin's first touch of the basketball.
She's eye to eye with all be Shaw.
You'll try the three.
It's offline.
The rebound following it up - That Abby Kelly cannot lose.
Abby Kelly, she sits on the boards really well and no she'll finish if she's in there alone.
Really well too is she made the initial screen that went down low to finish.
Yeah.
Additionally, when you let CHS score they're, they're able to get into their pressure, which is really stifled for a lot of teams.
- Held ball keeps it or sends it back rather to the stags Ally.
Lampson knocked over here right in front of us up those.
Im personal over here.
Why they call it VIP.
That's right.
Lampson 19 points in the regional finals against South Portland to lead her team off the glass.
No good that time.
AUB Shaw is the basketball but she's in a jam.
Managed to escape for follow of the game is called on Rachel - Sal.
Yeah, you can hear the Hamden fans behind us and boy do they travel well there is a, I mean both purple on both sides but a lot of purple behind - Usal.
I'm not surprised to see the Broncos fans down here.
They certainly turned up in Augusta for a gold ball.
What's the, what's the extra 50 or 60 miles, especially when you happened to one Once is 1976.
- Wow.
Yeah they're certainly hungry for one and they're showing that right now up four.
God it's stolen.
Kristin King off the glass for two.
Yeah King, just a freshman does not shy down from the moment she plays with more boys than a freshman.
- Re Hey Adams quickly to the front.
CO is studly all the way across.
Eve wiles off the iron and rebound a lampson.
He'll push the pace quickly.
Tremendous outlet past a king that the shoe's roll.
Yeah - That's all tied up Zach.
What CHS wants to do is get out transition through.
They wanna pressure up in that press that's doing - Exactly what they want to do.
Time outtake here by Nick Winchester as this game all of a sudden tied handled at that great start.
It's looking to be a game of runs.
Today's basketball coverage is made possible by Mainers like Chris Thornton who supported Maine public in his estate.
His generous gift helps ensure that we can continue to bring you this annual tournament and showcase athletic achievement across the states.
Poor information about how you can leave a legacy as Chris has done called Scott Mark Sheldon or Shelton, excuse me, 2 0 7 3 3 0 4 5 1 0 drafting help.
Quick time out.
Just three minutes and 10 seconds into the game and you get five of them.
But coaches don't tend to want to use them as early as this but I think Mick Winches are doing a good job slowing things down for a bit.
- Yeah, I think that was a great timeout by Coach Winchester.
I think he's gotta settle his kids down.
He's gotta let them know that they know how to break this.
They've seen similar pressure from their opponents.
- Studley go underneath the kick saving the beauty by add Jordan.
They'll keep it with Hammer Academy.
- It's nice to see add Jordan back out there after ACL last year.
Zach certainly missed her and they're excited to have her back.
- Going to the timeline, great.
Save the hustle from Arbery Shaw keeps us alive.
Wildes the brake's on eight Adams a very good three point shooter who was in the top five of the KVAC in the regular season.
He shoots the mid range - Or it hits it.
Boy that mid range game is a lost arc for a lot of teams.
They're either shooting right out far or they're right in close.
But that was really nice mid range to pull up Anna Goodman - Lampson cutting in rejected.
That's what Chris Lab breed does so well.
Mare showing all six four Adam's outside Studly thought about the shocks.
Wildes into more than think about it.
- She what it side?
There she goes again.
Guess that timeout worked pretty well.
I'll tell you that was well timed.
That's why they're in the state game.
- King and Studly a great individual matchup between two talented freshmen.
Yeah they're not playing like freshman.
That is for sure.
Whitney wanted to take on Lare passed off.
King Shot wouldn't go in another block by Grace Re, but Chevs runs it down and the first file called against Handed Academy goes against Studly - Boy.
Grace Libre really obviously has the size to impact those shots.
But's doing a nice job timing them up top.
She's not coming through and drawing house first.
- First one on Studly, one on each team and Jordan kept that in.
Bounce the lambskin spin drive off the glass.
No wiles alter the shot.
The quick outlets I be Shaw the Bouncer.
Studly return Shaw not that time.
Jordan has the rebound back from the stags.
SSON passed off.
She didn't realize Robert Shaw was.
Oh he's all over the floor.
Oh what a great play by King to avoid the traveling violation prone on the floor that doesn't fall.
The rebound run down by Kate - Adams and Anna Goodman is very good three point shooter so they cannot lose her - As moving.
First quarter high point lead for the Broncos with the basketball work inside LaBree trying to spin in with the - Left hands boots off the square.
I have a soft spot for that up and under.
That's what I made my living on in high school and college.
So shout out to Grace LaBree with a beautiful these first two points to go over - The two blocks she has down at this end of the floor.
Looking to start another run.
Arian Pitney, the junior, the Goodman She'll reset guarded by Adams.
Adams likes that corner positioned defensively.
She's gonna come with steals in there in the regional tournament and do not do that.
Just don't try that on 1 0 1 it doesn't work And that's a fall call a shooting situation.
Steve Wiles will head - To the line.
Yeah you might think Chevres is gonna have to go.
Chevs might have to go outside because boy oh boy Grace Re is nice and big inside and she is getting hands on everything.
Has a beautiful blonde - Wallace.
The line led the team 67% from the free throw line in the regional tournament.
Should get one more.
Abby Kelly turning to the game for shepherds now.
Lozier number 10 for him at Academy and for the first time.
22.
Rachel, Sally, agent Lassalle also returning for Chevrons.
- Everyone is good.
Really like how we just saw Grace be re communicating with her teammates from half court while they were in on the foul shot.
Communicating where matchups are communicating how they're gonna transition right out that fell shot.
We're thinking about the next play already.
- Rocco will open up an eight point lead as Wonder or two to go in the first quarter.
Richard Lasal just check back in.
Hey Jordan, outside I I would lo your lamps in for three rattled out the rebound pops right to - Lozier and she's been fouled.
Yeah those fouls are so tough.
You don't wanna foul that far away from the basket on a cheap one and let them you know, get another one up on the board.
Especially when you're second foul as it is on Rachel LaSalle.
Yeah, LaSalle is an unseen hero.
This team that's for sure.
She's been stellar during this postseason - I pass bounces to Studly.
She'll set things up for the Broncos oer.
Excellent sophomore off the bench.
This Broncos team Gordon, two of the three Northern Maine tournament games.
We'll work that inside the shot for - Kate Adams is good.
That is a sweet spot to find on that baseline.
Find them in space.
'cause usually that's behind the defender's heads and they can't see 'em.
You can get it there.
You're in good shape.
- I'll call them Kylie.
I know it's up.
Yes it's it's on Lance team control.
She's at the moving screen.
- That is a big, big call.
A big problem for ch sky lance and having two and haven't having scored yet.
- I'll be Shaw back in four different players have scored four The Broncos here in the first quarter.
It really speaks to the balance.
That was a, I think part of their offense and the regional to tournament on their way here.
- Yeah, when I spoke to coach Nick Winchester, he was saying how well spread out his scoring is.
How he can't really focus on just one player.
- There's always someone new who seems to lead This Broncos team both offensively and defensively asked to Adams to telegraph the pit - Foul called on fo Watson.
Kudos to Kelly for playing through that and sticking with it.
Hobbling it around so that she could kind of get that, draw that foul.
Be fo number 11 to Watson, her first - Broncos second - Two team fouls here for the Broncos.
Three for chevs.
Unlikely the bonus will play a factor in this first quarter with this 42 seconds remaining.
You never know Mr.
King around the stream.
Swish.
That's a very nice donor.
Again a freshman was not afraid of a big stage.
He and her team with six points here in the first quarter.
27 seconds to work.
See the Broncos will play for last shot.
Those are in a pickle but got away to Studly.
Well he wants it A sophomore Adam's guarded by Anna Goodman.
10 seconds to work.
Adam says why wait and that's why she didn't.
Ah, - Nice shot kid.
He's not afraid to shoot it.
We'll have to see it.
Entered Academy couldn't have wish for a - Better start than they had over the first eight minutes of play.
They lead CH by 11 21 10 back to the second the main class a girls state championship.
I mean from broadcaster - Production of high school basketball on Maine.
Public television is made possible by people like you and by at - Thomas College.
We do college differently.
We do academics differently, we do community differently, we do careers differently.
It's time to do college differently.
- Sheridan Construction, a Maine company committed to building on their promise for over 75 years.
- The environment is just awesome.
- Great - Campus, small close knit community.
- Everyone's really welcoming.
Everything feels very personal.
You feel like you belong here sometimes - When we get to this stage you just don't know what to expect a little bit.
Henry Academy scored 41 points at the high water market.
A game in the northern regional 21 points already against a team in Chevres.
One of the best of defensive teams in the country and they only allowed over the course of this season 37 points a game.
21 in the first quarter for Hammer Academy.
Couldn't be any better for Nick Winter's team.
- Yeah, they're not afraid to shoot it and for them to heat up early really bodes well for them.
Especially in a gym that is a difficult, notoriously difficult place to shoot with the backdrop as it is.
- One thing they do kinda have going forward a little bit is the Augusta Civic Center is very similar to that.
We don't have a backdrop right behind you and the depth deception takes some time to get used to.
- Yeah - Hammer the academy with the lead in the basketball Studly inside Shaw right back out.
Stuby will penetrate if you give her a room and the stags didn't give her any there make the steel too.
Addie Jordan or the solo job couldn't get the shot but she'll go the line.
No traveling - Violation.
Yeah that's another unfortunate one for Chevs.
You know you get to stop on the defensive end and you really want to capitalize on that offensive end and it just didn't work well on that play.
But credit to a Addie Jordan, she's just taking it, ripping it down the floor.
- Wilds to Adams.
Brie trying to get open on the post.
Jeffers have to watch that three point shot.
Quick hands from Abby Kelly for the Steel King.
How about the NCAA three?
But Studly got there to play defense.
Abby Kelly left alone.
It's short - And be Hammer Academy basketball.
Yeah your chs, you really need to capitalize on one of these trips down the floor after a stop 'cause you know you gotta start biting into this 11 point, 11 point deficit.
They - Made the - Stops.
You haven't been able to get points and chew into the gap.
Yeah, 10 points is not like chevres.
- Little pressure from the stags and now they are down numbers but the block shot the sal got a hand and it came right back to Studley.
However, studly again underneath Lare - Two Boy that's the first time that think we saw the Brie get a feed after that up and under move.
I really think they gotta get her going more but with that defense Travis is playing, they're really packing in tight.
Try to - Pack it in the three points burned them so maybe if they come out now does open things up for Grace.
Yeah it's pass over the top.
Jordan it again.
The race Lere is having some fun defensively here in the first half.
Wildes picked out to Studly, didn't penetrate brass C King, now she has to get rid of it.
Turned it over to Anna Goodman.
Damon has defender's back being watched now by Kate Adams being went Byer.
This has just been the grace Liberty block party down on the paint.
She has been - Unbelievable and she is cool, calm, collected.
There is not a lot of energy but I think you'd like to see that where she's nice and even keel.
She's not getting too high, getting too low.
She's staying right in there and playing big.
Not coming through.
Meet him at the top - Stags.
Keep trying that, hoping that eventually they can get that going but so far in the first half there's nothing there.
All - Called on the Broncos.
Yeah.
Nice to see Williamson back on the the floor.
She has got to get her going but also needs to be really careful not to get a quick third.
- E Wallace picks up her first personal foul.
Rachel LaSalle hold over the top inside.
They really keep tacking them and we'll be - Handing basketball.
This gives Trevor some time to set up their press which usually really turns into transition offense time so I think they could use some of that right now.
- That's the one thing you don't make the bucket at least it's not a turnover.
You can set the press up - Exactly.
- Lozier only Watson knocked outta Watson's hands by Abby Kelly but it's out of bounds so the Broncos hold onto it - Now Re's doing a really nice job and that pressure being kind of the pressure at least get it to her and then she can see down the floor if she's got open teammates and numbers.
Nice Return - Pass.
Trevor's picked it up, there's lo outside and then a three quarter Mallie Lozier - Three off the bench.
That is a smooth stroke from Lo.
Really pretty shot.
It's a 16 - Point lead for the Broncos lamps in stepped on the baseline.
That was all Eve Wildes on the pressure giving her nowhere to go.
- Yeah, really nice job of her driving her down to the baseline where she knew she had help to kind of slide through - Christian King back in the game.
Addie Jordan also went for Chevs - At King.
They need on the floor right now.
She's giving them, giving them almost all their offense.
- End of the game for Chev was a fast start.
When they do that, usually just they disappear over the horizon against teams but they're in danger of having the opposite happen to them here in the first half.
- Yeah they, I don't know how you get going but you gotta it right now.
You gotta get a stop and a score - On the - Baseline.
- They're just not missing right now.
The academy 71% for the field to this point of the game for an 18 - Point lead point.
It does not feel anything shy of that.
71% that is or hardly missed it at all.
- Lampson Shot doesn't go the rebound yanked down Lozier Lampson with no points in the game.
Nice block by Addie Jordan, you got that road.
Jordan got it.
Hammered Academy.
He's getting a ball back.
See and locked by the basket.
Yeah you overturn it though.
Yeah Good fish got together in the referee with the best view and look to us or me anyway down here at the floor that was off the hands of the Hammond Academy player.
- Yeah it's always nice to have three officials, you know six sets, three sets of eyes, Lampson off the glass.
That's her first two points.
It was always a matter of when not if Kyle Lampson is gonna get going so you wonder if that's gonna be what starts at four now she's going there too.
A - Steal from Lampson.
Four quick points for the stags and they have cut the gap.
A 14 4 0 8 to go - Here in the second quarter and Nick Winchester doesn't wanna let that four get to eight.
Really wants to stop that run early.
And again his first time out was well timed.
Really results in good stuff for them but a beautiful steal by Lampson.
Nice finish.
- Did you miss a game or wanna watch one again Made public is rebroadcasting all of the state final games this weekend, last night's class B games we're seeing this morning.

More balanced scoring.
Look down the score sheet now Los in the game with Three Points Eve, Wildes, I'll be Shaw Grace Lare I stu of all scored of course the defense a Grace Lare is really been unbelievable in the first - Half.
Absolutely stellar and you know SHIs is gonna have to start shooting it but boy den pressure's been tough on the perimeter and what they like to do is really get to the rim and Lare is not having that now - As almost stolen by Kylie and at the fingertips on that.
Couldn't reel it in eight Adams over to do the honors this time for the Broncos.
There's pressure.
May their key to getting back in this game but handed the caddy has dealt with pressure quite a bit.
Gun will in this came but a difficult situation for Adams got out of it and Lare they hustle to force to miss coming - In.
Rachel Lasal.
Yeah that's great.
Hustled by Chevs.
Stick with that press even when it looked like they were gonna squash him to the academy was gonna score K blocks.
Not legally though, they'll get lore.
Alright, good for Kristen King.
Getting into the paint, making make Make Foul Family - Academy number 10.
Getting out the line.
The Chevs freshman had a huge game in the regional finals in double digits.
10 points against South Portland with six assists in a couple of steals and she's been - Stellar.
She's a pretty, she plays within herself and she does a little bit of everything again as a freshman that is all you could ask for as a coach.
- Seven points now for Kristen King.
She'll get one more bows on Mallory Lotion, her first king, one out of two Oja with the rebound at Follow Beyond King.
Just first - 13 Kristen - King, her first - Anna Goodman back in for the steps.
Kristen King will get rest.
Aya Studley returning for the Broncos.
She will take out Mallo.
- Good timing for Kristen King to get a little breather.
Need her, need her on the floor.
- Has that pressure again.
Agree.
Just grab that away from Pitney.
Now Studly, look down to Adams allows to lose your lo your head.
Some room cuts inside.
Studly loves that.
Shocks not that time and it works out well as Lares right there to - Score.
Really nice catch, rebound, settle, finish for debris.
She's been dynamite so far and she doesn't seem to be slowing down.
Six points, five - Blocks of Grace LaBree in the first half.
That wouldn't go Ambitious effort from the Lampson.
Lare lurking right there.
Thought - Lere was gonna make it a sixth one right there.
- I think Lampson would've thought that as well.
Studley Lare attacks got fouled - And the senior will shoot.
Yeah with Camden getting hot early for the three point line.
CHS has to fly out which allows them to attack the rim and then dump over to lab Bri and you know get them into deeper foul trouble doing exactly what they want to do.
- See if LaBree right here - So get one more boy To see a big of that size be agile and able to move and able to rip from the elbow is really refreshing 'cause usually that size is back to the basket and that's it more.
Does a little bit of everything.
- More importantly here too of this trip to the line is not just the one point but the fact that Kylie Lampson picked up her third foul.
- Yes.
Yeah that was not the plan, that's for sure.
So she's gotta take a seat - King in.
- That's Pitney nice jumper again.
Finding that baseline person is always nice.
Makes everybody turn their heads.
- Ias Dudley getting outta the trap spot wise enough to realize she'd wandered into it.
Adams has one three.
That one's too strong.
Almost spiked the rebound outbounds now it's Watson inside.
No one thought she was passing.
She's been hit in the shot as it bounced off the iron.
- Our credit CHS are saying that with that defensive stand, they really need one right now.
- Kristen King screen set by Addie Jordan and a Goodman with it here.
King went baseline.
The floater.
No, not what she wanted to do as far as how she made that shot.
That was all Lare as well.
- Yeah, I mean she just disrupts a shot.
Can't can't just float it up there.
Which can't Z somebody six four.
Annie Jordan - Passed off.
King missed and to shoot that over LaBree she will keep this one.
24 remaining and a half down.
14.
Yeah, Jordan hit the floor hard there but thank goodness she popped right back up.
She looks all right.
Yep, she does.
Eve wild's about to come back in for him.
An academy in the next stoppage.
Jordan the open.
Marian Pitney at that time the academy.
Little confused there for a second of who get the rebound but no one was there in white so it didn't matter.
Stud Lee.
Good quick first step.
And on the kickball on Jordan, that saved the bucket most likely.
- Yeah, she saw Sean that backside all alone and did try to put the needle but wonder if she's a socket player.
Pitney or field hockey goalie could be one or the other.
Could be.
It's not quite a basketball skill we need.
- I'm in handy every once in a while do lose the basketballer.
Other words, don't get it back.
I was last touched by Chevs.
Look across the score sheet again.
I mentioned how many players had scored earlier for Hamden but the balance as far as how many points has been great as well.
Eve wild's it on the three corner side.
She's - Got 10 going.
They gotten real comfortable on that left side.
Three get a beautiful shot.
I don't think any of their pleas have tinkered ground.
I think they've all been swish, which is gorgeous.
- Marianne, Pitney, England.
45 seconds work inside on Goodman passed off Goodman all the way around the perimeter portion underneath.
Blocked by Studly, right to Wiles Player control file calls.
Yeah I think she lowered her shoulder on that one - Academy filed.
There were 12 so Eva Wiles, that's her second had tough break for Hampton when you get a good stop.
- Yeah, - Yeah it was the second one.
The first one didn't but the second one did.
Another one of King dribbling it up so she dodges that tra call.
- I age myself here in stations like the original globe toward or new seventies globe toward Curly Neil Shot.
Doesn't go for Pitney or rebound.
Great hustle by Goodman to keep it alive.
12 seconds remaining.
Pitney the long two.
No good.
This will stay with Chev though one off Aubrey Shaw and the stags of 6.1 seconds to pull a little - Closer.
Yeah, honestly this could be a really good kind of momentum swing for ch going into a halftime.
Chad if they can get a score here.
- Tyler Lampson back in with those six seconds left just on the offensive side of the ball.
Use your skills Inbounded.
I would look for it to come back to Lampson here getting me all the way across and a good man will not get the shot away.
Our stags could not find work in the first half ends with Ham Academy.
Doubling up the Shepherd Stags 34 17 is a score here at halftime.
We'll be back after this.

- Congratulations to all the sportsmanship awards winners here in Portland today.
Jefferson Hammered Academy back out on the floor getting set for the second half and Broncos had one major key to the game and that is to make Chevs uncomfortable now to the stags in a very uncharacteristic spot have been made to feel a lot of discomfort in the first 16 months.
Yeah, - I would totally agree.
I mean mean Chev, has this tournament been really comfortable?
I mean they had a really tough game against Benford but I feel like they always felt like they had a sense of control and now it feels like a little bit outta control, especially with Kylie lamps in their stud in a lot of foul trouble and hasn't been able to get going offensively, which is very, very uncharacteristic.
So - How long is she sitting the bench do you think?
Or is she gonna come right back out with a team facing a 17 point deficit and just trying to stay out of file trouble?
As we look at the stats overall and just look at the numbers when you talk about fuel goals, the three pointers especially.
Wow.
- Yeah those stats.
I mean say it all really.
I mean if you're shooting 50% from the floor and 75% from three, you're probably in pretty good shape.
And for shes to be o for four from the three point line is a very, again, uncharacteristic thing of this team.
They really like to shoot the three.
And again, what that does is that opens up space for them to then get Abby Jordan to going to then get Abby Kelly going inside and get those driving lanes open.
But they haven't done it yet.
So credit to Hampton 'cause they're playing their game plan pretty much to a t.
- Kyle Lampson you think back in earlier, will she be on the bench for a little bit with those three foul?
- Yeah that's a tough call if, if I'm calling it I'd probably keep her for two minutes, see how it plays and then if they get in a little bit more trouble then you gotta toss her in and you know, trust your senior trust that she can stay out of foul trouble and trust that you know she can get herself going offensively and if not that she can at least rebound, maybe get a couple put backs, maybe get herself going that way - For Hamlet is just keep doing what you're doing.
We'll see if they can do that in the second half as we'll be back.
Alright, half two in Portland.

It all all kicks off April 2nd on main public television - Games.
Back out on the floor as we're set to go we'll switch sides and Chevs will start with the basketball they're attacking from left to right Hammer Academy in the purple they'll attack from right to left with the 17 point lead and said the start of this game.
One of the keys to the games with Chev was a fast start.
They didn't get that in the first half.
It's even more crucial now in the second.
Yeah, - I'll be interested to see what kind of adjustments Coach Goodman makes for his team.
That is a great play to start.
Great play to start.
And they had Lare - Can't connect kind of away from the action but Eve Wildes was there to fence with.
There's a steal by the stags.
However Kristen King passed off be pass for glass for two.
Yes it was Guy Lampson.
That's a quick bucket and that bodes well for Chevs.
They wanna come back - In this game.
Yeah.
And again gives them the opportunity to set up a stifling defense If they can get it going this way that is good for Chevs.
They're gonna need to get going.
- Ay Shaw got through defenders and of forced that into the LaBree and Addie Jordan was there to steal for the stags pink baseline.
Here's the kick out good ball boot by the stags.
LaSalle rattles out ARB Shaw runs down the loose ball with the pass is out of bounds and the stags will keep it.
- Yeah, this is what stags we're looking for is the first 53 seconds on their side.
It's good to get some momentum.
- They get back within single digits at the end of this quarter.
I think we'll be doing pretty well as far as looking for an optimistic reason to believe they can come back here.
They have the firepower to do that.
The shots start dropping.
There's haven't been Jordan, the kick out Goodman, it's too strong and the rebounds will go to the Broncos.
Willie Goodman said she bounced it off a ham academy players the referees will talk about this and see if they overruled the call and they've done that once already but not this time.
Evers bringing the pressure once again four defenders in the front court.
Adams e Wiles, Adam's outside Seven points.
He hit a three and a great pass and finish off the glass by all be shot.
- That's great court vision.
Absolutely gorgeous pass and nice job on the backside to make sure that your teammate sees you're in open space.
- King Arian Pitney with it here.
That's off of Kylie Lampson and the Broncos will take the gift Eve wiles almost stolen by Jordan.
She's having a hard time hanging onto it right there on the sideline.
But she did slow the Broncos down.
They'll inbound.
- Yeah The one thing that Hamden did really well in that first step that they haven't done quite yet.
The second is stepping two and through passes that's giving chevs that line that they want to go pick a pass and then take it the other way.
- Chloe Watson squeezed through Defenders Eve wiles for three.
Not that time but the rebound pops right to Adams Wiles that looked like Wiles was quite set on that last one.
Watson against squeezes through two Chevs defenders agree outside the Adams wiles.
Two off the glass - A great take.
Hams did a really nice job and they have all game of quick passes, quick decision making so that they make Chevs recover in slide - Eve.
Wees has a dozen or tournament high was 14 against Cameron Hills and the regional semis.
Oh what a tough shot that was - Kane getting into Lebri and then you know fading back.
That's a cold shot.
- He has nine points the freshman does to lead her team.
We Watson, she's really trying to trap the Broncos.
They've almost come up with those steals but Hamman keeps getting out of it.
Adam's the long two.
Perfect.
- Yeah Coach Nick Winchester said they were ready for this pressure and they don't panic.
They're keeping their wits about them.
They're making sure they're looking for open teammates.
'cause if you've got two on you, you know you got an open teammate somewhere.
Strong - Drive by Lampson, a blocking foul called against Hammond Academy.
- Yeah hopefully she can get herself going at the foul line.
- That's the first foul called on either team here in the second half.
Aubrey Amon at the line.
No surprise and outstanding free throw shooter.
88% in the tournament.
Six points right now for the miss mean basketball finalist.
- Make it seven.
That's a real nice foul shot.
Honestly all shots are so underrated.
It's the same shot every time.
It should be automatic like that.
Not for everybody but for Kylie Lampson - And it was - Got a little worried about the commentator's curse right there.
Yeah the announcer's jinx I don't believe in but - Boy does it happen a lot.
I'm always watching and I'm like look, but you did ever just the ball right back forcing a turnover.
They haven't gained any ground here in the third quarter so far in the first three minutes and eight seconds still down 17.
- I've had the trouble with digging a hole.
Is it just you gotta holdt so many times.
Gordon, great persistence by the junior to score in the second attempt.
That's a great putback and great sticktuitiveness for Madie.
Jordan.
- Kyle called on - Chev and that's their first in the third quarter.
Yeah, that's the risk you've run with running this type of pressure is that you very well could pick up a couple quick vows.
- Rachel Lassalle this time 22.
Rachel LaSalle, her second.
I have Studly back.
Studly the Broncos freshman started the game.
Three points and a long distance bond back in the first quarter.
An academy was just lights out from mayor on the stripe on the steal by the stag to see if they can answer back with a three.
Not quite bound though.
Chevs will try again.
Addy Jordan note.
Third opportunity for the stags.
Lampson that time it's good.
Quick timeout calls.
CHS will take a minute.
Let's see it again.
Third time's the charm.
- Kylie Lampson and a stags.
Yeah.
Credit to King 'cause she gave it right to Lance's shooting pocket and she was able to step in rhythm and when she gets that open shot rhythm, she's really, really tough.
- Season nine of high school quiz show Maine returns on Thursday, March 19th.
Tune to watch schools from around the state match wit and compete for the $1,000 prize this season.
Schools from Illinois to Beville to Portland will battle it out for the championship with host Todd Guntner.
It all starts Thursday, March 19th at 8:00 PM on Maine public television.
Guntner down to 12 C says I was gonna mention, if you get that back within single digits going into the fourth quarter, you can start to really believe that you might have what takes a pull all the way back and in short order they did take a 17 point gap - And make it a dozen.
Yeah, well and when you get going then your fan base starts to get into it.
And especially for Chev, they have their fans right behind their bench, which really can give you a boost when you need it.
- This player right here, AYA Studley is a motivation and momentum killer.
Those three point shot she has can be extremely demoralizing.
She's set up in the corner right now.
Studly.
That's what I'm talking - Boy that was a very nice shot on a very timely feet to quiet on that CH section.
- I think I've seen her do that at the Yes civic center a couple times last week.
Yeah.
Allie lamps in.
Gus put the brakes on in time.
Goodman got around her defender at Watson.
Shot wouldn't go.
There's Libre with another rebound that's five now for her and her academy will keep the basketball.
Let's take a look at that.
Aya UD three again she was just waiting for the pass as she let it fly immediately.
- That Libre has such great court vision.
Obviously being as big as she is and she's a dynamite passer.
She does a really nice job delivering that ball to her teammates where they can score jump - Here, the error will - Change.
Possession will notch.
Yeah, those chevs traps can be really deadly, especially with their length and wear of their athleticism.
So you gotta be careful not to pick it up.
That's something Hamiltons done really well is they've dribbled to get out of that trap.
- Three CHS players there, they couldn't deny the pass and Lare will try to make them pay at the line.
- Had great job settling by Lare and seeing the rim before she goes up into them - Two fouls now on Kristen King.
Grace Bri was seven points tonight.
Don't got a chance to make it.
Eight Kelly back in Marion.
Pitney be joining the fray as well for she and a Goodman at Jordan.
Excuse me, Rachel o Sal.
Take a rest.
- Yeah, again, with the defensive effort they have to put forth here, they gotta make sure they got fresh legs.
He's doing a really nice job.
Coach Goodman is of rotating his kids one out - Of two for LaBree.
He's up to eight points now to go with their four rebounds and five walks.
Mr.
King matched up with Stubbly, the battle of freshmen who play like veterans.
Ellie outside SSON wants the basketball, but she said Chloe Watson stuck right to her king, the runner.
- Oh it's pretty.
That was the same shot get over the not long ago.
She again, she's really trying to will her team into this kind of run.
They - Need to 11 points now.
She and Lampson both with 11.
And there's a steal by the aforementioned Kylie Lampson.
She wants to bring it back very quickly.
Lampson a past a king three on the way.
Abby Kelly, no ever seen everything they wanted to do.
Abby as far setting that shot up.
Yeah, that she's team would've exploded if that'd had gone in.
I I get the steal here.
It's Abby Kelly again.
Her second steal.
Jordan knocked out of bounds.
Great house love his tags will keep it.
Couple subs for him.
Den Academy.
Melanie Lozier Eve.
Wildes.
Go back in - Number 10, Mallory Lozier, number 12 Eve Wiles.
- Wiles will inbound.
Excuse me, Goodman will inbound while there defensively.
We on the way.
Tough shot Lamb's gonna turn in fire and almost buried it.
Here's another chance.
So close rebounds high in the air and race.
LaBree ends up with it and a traveling violation called against the handled - Academy.
Senior boy Tyler Williamson's.
Teammates from a great job hit during the shooting pocket.
Just not fallen quite yet, but if she keeps getting those shots, they will fall.
- Call Lampson.
Mounting again to Addie Jordan.
King splits defenders high shot is good.
- I mean you gotta take away that hand at some point because she's made 11 in this third quarter over there.
- Adams has to run this down, won't get there and sugar rock with the body perfectly and bows the and they're within 10 and he got into 10 points to 1 49 to go.
They have seven point grand CH does here in this quarter.
Almost forced the turnover there.
Now - That killer trapped and that's far, far from the basket for good for him for keeping their heads up and looking.
They're - Very poisonous.
Broncos team and a foul called against and that would be lamp's.
Fourth if it is number two.
It looked like it was.
See how many fingers come up.
Yep, that's her fourth, you'll have to come out.
Rachel will Sal over the squad - To get credit to her.
She started the third quarter and is just now getting on fourth.
But that is a really tough call.
Had a really tough time when they just started gaining momentum and again, Lampson was really starting to build that confidence to lead.
- Re low.
Got in too deep but also got filed.
Agree.
50% from the line, two for four.
And here's why she's shooting again.
- STAs file number 20.
Addie Jordan - Now that's just a good strong take.
I keep strong player Jeffers all they can to stop re - Adding.
Jordan picks up her first personal foul Lare swish.
The only holes in Bri re's game in the tournament was her free throw shooting at 44% but she's 60% right now in the night.
Three out five.
Well she doesn't possess from a free throw line she has everywhere else and now four for six during two big shots here in the late stages in the - Third quarter.
Yeah, those are really big Again to tamp that Chevs run again, can't get into single digits but if when they do we got a good ball game coming down the stretch, - Addie Jordan switching direction on the kick outs should be a long two if it goes and it does.
Mary and Pitney answering back with Alu jumper, he has four points now Pitney does under a minute to go in the third dangerous spot to be trapped in.
So with a steel, Abby Kelly wanted a fire but better of it.
King again the rainmaker for two more.
- Shocker King on that right side, same spot.
Love to see a shooting tire just a freshman.
The book of Isaiah says a little child to lead them.
Oh boy, that's putting back to the line Show had five fo.
Yeah - The bonus academy is number 13.
Kristen King picks up the foul.
He's got three files now as King again knows she has to put that one up high.
- She's making a living on that right side and good for her until him to makes some adjustment and makes her do something else.
Why would you - Grace LaBree continues her strong shooting at the Stripe.
Sure does.
Charlie Lampson with four foul back in Billy Goodman's rolling the dice here.
Number 12, Hannah Goodman.
He also knows only eight minutes and 38 seconds remaining in regulation time.
- Yeah, that's a tough decision to make as a coach but I think it's the right one.
I think you gotta have her in especially when you're going on the offensive end.
Four - For four, our last shot's Grace Lab lead 10 once again for him at Academy King Lampson watched by Watson Lampson shoots over hits and that's I put her in will call a timeout.
They have three remaining 24.3 seconds to go and Lampson now up to 15 points.
King with 15 points as well for the stags while on the boot Each with a dozen and Kate Adams is at a nine as well.
- 10.
- Yeah that's exactly why I put Kylie Lampson in 'cause she's capable of shots like that and - Broadcast remains.

Thank you very much for doing so.
Now they've got it under 10.
It's a 17 point gap at half ton.
CHS has shaved nine points off of that so they're more than halfway into coming back but Hammer Academy with the basketball and an eight point lead chance for the last shot here if they can get down the floor, she's press as in a better job here.
Frustrating the Broncos in the third quarter and it did not frustrate Eve Wildes - Who was fouled until shoots.
Yeah, Eve Wildes saw open space on the left side of the floor and boy she took it, saw nobody in front of her and decided to go right up.
- Wildes just saw that she had Arian.
Pitney turned around Henry Academy only shot 46.7% from the line in the entire class.
A north regional tournament.
There's 70% percent here tonight.
One more coming for Eve Wiles who led the team in the north region with 67%.
I Shaw back in Kylie Lampson as well and a Goodman returns.
Kylie Lampson last 18.6 in the third quarter miles one out of two lead back to nine.
That's 12 - Points for wild tied with Grace.
- Never has the arrow.
They'd love nothing more than to get a bucket here and a double dribble calls.
- That is a really tough error but you're trying to get, again trying to bite down into this lead.
Unfortunately now Hampton has the opportunity to go back up double digits if they can capitalize here with 10 seconds on the board.
- 10 seconds to work.
King got the basketball in a salad.
Be careful there we king up the line.
Five seconds it's Lozier back outside a shot of the buzzer.
Too strong in the rebound.
Ended up with Bri but too late for a quick back champ.
Cup the cab to nine but the Broncos still lead back to the fourth means class.
A girls state championship right here on Maine.
Public television - Production of high school basketball on Maine.

We do college differently.
We do academics differently.
We do community differently, we do careers differently.
It's time to do college differently.
- Nine point separates these two teams Were no strangers in this gold ball game.
They've been here seven times since 2011, ever winning in 2002 and 2004 most recently knocking off Gorham that year, two years ago for Den Academy.
They've been here four times, have not tasted victory and nine points up with eight to go try to win their first gold bell since 1976.
Can they pull it off?
Well the stags make the comeback from 17 down.
We're about to find out.
Glad you're joining us along with Abby Hass Hasson.
I'm Rob Kennedy and Chevs will start with the basketball.
Yeah, - I'll be curious to see how they get going here.
Chevs not seeing Lampson on the floor so not right now.
Big fourth house.
You gotta protect her.
- Mr.
King will handle a basketball and she's just done fine for herself that time.
A little shorts and no one touched that.
It's Hammered Academy.
Broncos Basketball Eve Wiles Academy using the full length of the court.
But again that's the spot Shepherds will get you to walk into and they make the steal.
Yeah, that trap is so dangerous, - Especially at the half court line where it acts as a third defender.
- Anna Goodman so close wouldn't go for and the rebound.
Mallory Lozier o Watson I think toward the timeline has to get rid of it and did just barely beat the couch.
Somehow though Wows got away and she'll go to the line.
A hard foul Wiles went crashing down.
Hard landing.
She was grimacing there as you saw, but she'll hop - Up and take the shots.
Yeah, Wiles has not been afraid of contact tonight.
She's done a really nice job drawing contact.
Drawing wasn't getting herself to foul line.
- Two files now on Addie Jordan.
There is Eve wiles are to add to her baker's dozen of points.
One more chance to do that.
- Yeah.
At this point in the fourth quarter, really important that these guys remember that you have to put your legs into it.
- There's Kylie Lampson back in seven 15 to go a 10 point deficit.
The stags need her on the floor.
She's playing with four fo - That we've mentioned.
Yeah and you think as a senior again Miss Main basketball finalist that she can really play the last seven minutes carefully.
- Lamps in step back, no good as Kate Adams for the rebounds.
Adams now with four rebounds.
That one was very timely.
Aubrey Shaw that was off the foot of a chevs player.
Hammered academy will keep that one thing hammered Academy been so close before with a lead.
Forget about the score.
Don't even look up.
Keep playing your game.
I think it's probably the message they've been getting.
Yeah.
- Coach Nick Winchester.
I spoke with him yesterday and he really spoke about how he's been telling his players repeatedly.
Stay in the moment.
Stay in the moment.
Don't get caught up on mistakes.
Don't get caught up on what's about to happen.
Stay where your feet are.
Race - Re just saw right there almost had possession.
Good hustle by the senior to try to keep control for him and academy the stags.
Have it.
Make it a single digit deficit here if they can score in this possession.
I need Jordan outside.
It's Lampson again.
Lampson Lord went tumbling down King now with it in an academy.
Very tough to get inside against when the stags manager do so re's been there.
File called against the Broncos.
That's their first here in the fourth quarter.
- There hasn't been a lot of contact called here in the first part of the fourth quarter, which works really well for Vis, you know you don't wanna put him into the line and you also don't wanna stop the clock.
- Eight Adams picks up her second foul Ally Lampson.
It was Fal.
It'll be an inbound play.
It happened before the shot.
Look at Billy Goodman.
He's still in this here and certainly he knows the offensive weapons the CH Staggs team has.
They can come back from 10 points down with 6 0 9 to go.
But basically defense that has been so pot.
Kristin King had to get rid of that before she landed and just did LaSalle over Lari off the glass.
It's an eight point game.
Louis Watson that's coming over here.
Captain Bounds dog.
Great work.
Leon Goodman Lampson the Floater.
No there's Adams right there at To Pounce of Marie Bounce.
- There's another timely term, timely Time out by Coach Nick Winchester.
He just wanted to talk it over it.
His time out in the first half were really well taken and they came out the Hampton Academy Broncos came back out really strong.
- Take a look at the last couple sequences.
Jeffers really needed - This one.
Yeah they did.
And re just didn't step up in time and didn't have another block.
- Live Stats says that CHS with one time up remaining hammered Academy two, which is different than what it says up above us so we'll know where the live sta here.
These seem to be pretty more reliable.
Corry returns in April with more amazing stories of the green main outdoors people, places, animals, activities, and much more from Dorry Rowing and Belfast to mountain climbing and Clifton from Birds of Salamanders to jellyfish host Alin Sarnai leads you from the mountains to the sea in season three of the Emmy winning Outdoors series.
It's Borealis beginning on April 2nd right here in Maine.
Public television I 34 to go.
Chevs has pulled back from 17 down the trail by eight, but Hammered Academy jumped out to that early lead and really held the stags at bay since then and they finish it out - The next 5 34.
Yeah, I'll tell you, if CHS can keep pressing and keep trapping without fouling, they might be in a nice spot.
- Chs of course has been in a situation like this before against Benford where they really didn't lead all game until the last few seconds.
- Hey it's all about leading in those last few seconds.
- Mr.
King carried it.
That's the eighth turnover on Chevs winning that battle today.
Er over 22 times.
Chevs just eight.
I think by looking at that, the board might be a little different.
Right?
CH hasn't been able to take advantage of that and most of those turnovers too have been ones that have not led to points.
- Yeah, it's been that back and forth type of turnover.
You get it and then you just flip it back over - Adams for three.
No.
Oh that came close a rebound.
Rachel LaSalle.
- Yeah CHS I'm sure just blew a sigh of relief on that one but that would've been a very, very difficult shot.
- We on the way at a Jordan, it's wide.
That'll be him in academy basketball.
- Yeah, neither team is afraid to shoot it right now and you've got to keep pushing here you can't let up.
So it's nice to see both teams staying after it.
- Eight Adams Watson.
I'm gonna look at this team too.
There's a lot under class with him in the academy team.
Sophomores and juniors out now and the senior Grace Lere Aubrey Shaw lasting North tournament MVP.
They won some seconds but now she's gotta get rid of it under some serious duress.
Steve Wildes tore but Hadie Jordan was lying in.
Wait, that's good.
Hands by Jordan.
Good.
Been timeout.
Called by Billy Goodman timeout Shivers High School.
I haves to kind of believe maybe that the scoreboard is correct because he would not use his last time out right there.
So he's got two left and Ham has two left.
- I wouldn't think so.
No that would be a very, very interesting play - Time out here.
We can take a look at some of the numbers.
Trevor's being led by para players, Kylie Lampson and Kristen King.
Each with 15 points overall on the other side of the ledger, his 12 points for Great Grace Lire Nine Points, McCade Adams.
There's more balance on the side of Hamden Academy which is why they have that eight point lead as we look at the Hammond cheerleaders who are hoping to celebrate a nice long two hour change.
Bus ride back to Hammond Academy with a gold ball.
- Yeah, I was up that way yesterday watching my brothers Yarmouth team and that drive gets a little longer every time you do it but I'm sure it would be made a little shorter with a gold ball sitting in the passenger seat.
- Yeah, it'd be no problem if that's the case.
Gold ball's riding shotgun you could drive to Manca lamps in Spins shoots just won't drop a rebound for Chloe Watson Eve.
Wiles on the run, slowed down waiting for help to arrive.
We approached the halfway point of the fourth quarter Amin Academy led by 17 and halftime still up by eight.
Watson's in trouble.
Got away now file called on the stags.
- It's gonna go against Annie Jordan.
Biggest thing right now for Hamden is to not succumb to the pressure and not to speed up.
They need to stay with what they've been doing that's made them successful, which is staying poised, stepping through traps and looking for the open person.
- Aubrey Shaw, Daniel Shaw.
Relatively quiet, just six points for her and again the balance is what's been working for him at Academy.
Once again today.
Lare matched up with Jordan, went outside and an academy will not rush a fourth shot, not with an eight point lead, not with under half a quarter to go.
Oh geez, he's got Rachel Sal down on the weave here setting up Eve Wild for two picture perfect for him and academy timeout.
Call Rachel LaSalle is down getting some help up.
We take a look at that last bucket.
Can't move the ball better than this can you - Got really nice extra pass to find the extra open person and that's what this Hampton Academy does team does really well is they find the shooter and like you said, they're so evenly spread they don't care who scores, they just want it to go in the bucket.
- Put the Broncos back up by 10 points as number 10.
Mallory Lozier comes back in.
Only Watson will be replaced Once seniors played in this game for Hammer and Academy, as I was mentioning, grace Labu, is it Zoe Higgins also a senior but she hasn't seen game action yet.
She did play in every one of the regional tournament games - Then Coach Nick Winchester said that his bench is young as well and they're hungry and they're ready to fill the shoes that are up - Foul called.
I brought out Labrie to take away the three point attempt by Kylie Lampson.
I'll leave somebody open inside - 12 Now that's something they've done well The second half the CHS has drawn LaBree out so she can't be blocking those shots as much as she did in the first half.
- I have studly back in the game with her six points.
She got a pretty good rest over in Nick Winchester's bench that was knocked off the stags.
That's when the touch was Addie Jordan trying to gather it in Billy Goodman starting run out time here with his team down Tim, a brief passing off to Shaw that's stolen hat Jordan's a ball hawk hat Jordan saw that one coming all the way through the re in and it's a blocking fo call in the ham academy.
Senior Addie Jordan heads to the - Line and that's exactly what Chev wants, which is to stop the clock, be able to score some points and then stop the press number 23 - First.
That's only lab's first personal foul.
Addie Jordan.
A good free throw shooter.
It's the first we'll take a look at what got her to the line - Now we spoke about lab's agility and of her ability to move.
She's just a little late on that one but credit to Jordan putting her head down and getting to the - Rims.
Five minutes into this fourth quarter and an academy still leads by eights studly lare inside up off the glass.
No good brave rebound there.
How is Abby Kelly?
Great position.
Take that away from Libre fo a call that will slow lamps and down that's three files now on Hamden Academy with 2 47 to go.
So Chevs getting closer and closer to the bonus which could help them significantly.
Hamden Academy number five and he set to shoot first.
Second team's fifth and that's the fifth actually sir, that's why she's shooting the bonus at the - Line shooting.
Yeah that does not bode well for Hamden again in exactly whichever response which is stopping the clock and scoring and again setting up that pressure that's made things a little bit more difficult in the second half for - Hamden.
Hanson's still perfect from the line.
Chevs back within 7, 8, 6.
It's a two possession game now an easier time out the floor this time for hammered academy and Lozier went in, was followed before that or a timeout timeout was called.
It's a full timeout call by Nick Winchester.
Two forty three to go.
Well this young team right now, I think the one thing to do is not look in the rear view mirror here.
It's the one thing you just want to continue to do is now the lead shrunk to six points.
Don't think about that if you can do that, but that's the hardest part is to keep - That outta your mind.
That certainly is.
And it's a time old kind of adage and basketball or in any sport which is you have to play to win, not to play, not to lose.
And it's really, really important right now that Hamden doesn't put on the brakes 'cause CHS will capitalize and this lead will shrink even more.
Communities - And the cheerleaders, the Hamden bands always love with the band show up.
Bang Oratorium always seems to have a little bit less common down in Augusta in Portland.
So I'm one very happy the Hamden band traveled down here.
Sounds like an old fashioned high school basketball state championship game here in Portland.
- Yeah, the atmosphere in here is great and I'm a sucker for a high school band and they are fabulous.
They're very, very good.
- Great anthem singer from Chev to start things off the band's here as well.
It's not just about the skills of the athletes on the floor.
Well that's the reason we're all here today.
Two time odds left CHS back on the floor handed the academy has the ball, they have the arrow, they have a six point lead with 2 43 to go Eve Wiles the junior set to inbound for him in academy Shaw Adam's outside picked up by Goodman an academy fill.
Want a bit of time here to work out really well if they can end this possession with a bucket, do this again chs.
It could get challenging when they get bailed out here.
Abby Kelly commits the foul.
That's three on CHS now.
So two more to give before the Broncos shoot.
Yeah - That's a tough one.
Just because they had her so close to have court where they really had her in a tough spot to bail her out is a little bit difficult but it's not gonna stop them from pressuring, that's for sure.
- Nick Winchester, the Hammer Academy coach Wiles Adam's in the corner.
Wiles again, I'll be shocked.
Great game of keep away going on here for Hammond Academy as wild as accelerates Sean.
The corner blocking foul call now the stags need one more to give how long they'll wait to try to give it here.
CHS filed number 20 at after hope the Bronco shooting woes the free throw line from the regional tournament.
Come back.
It's not been the case so far tonight though.
Loose on the floor.
It's a held ball.
So the Broncos had the arrow, that's their insurance policy here but it'll flip back to the stags when they inbound it.
- Yeah you know that type of pass is so dangerous.
If you're gonna throw that it has to have a lot of air in it.
You almost want to throw it further to half court than you do to that defender.
- All the way across to Eve Wiles Watson.
That time of jump ball will go to Chevs.
They thought they had the clean steel.
That's why you see the expression in Kylie.
Lamps in's face.
She wanted to go off to the races they do get the basketball back and a chance to potentially make this a one possession game.
This is the time to capitalize.
You - Wonder who they're gonna give it to in the academy.
Go to that stall.
Texas Whir we, I don't like the stall tactic just because kind of again gets your foot off the gas and you really should be thinking to score.
Hanson was certainly thinking that way.
It's a four point - Game.
There's the pressure from the show.
This Wildes escapes under a minute 30 to go work download Tore Lo Watson.
Stolen again saved this time.
Madie Jordan Jefferson winner now still one 12 to go lampson around the screen.
Shooting for three was partially blocked, looked like maybe not it'll be handed Academy basketball kin Marion Pitney number 21 SSON will come out the game defensively and likely check back in if she can offensively.
Let's leave it again.
Was this tipped Hard to tell from that angle.
Yeah.
Tough to tell.
Another steel.
- Annie Jordan.
Oh there goes Jordan again.
She has had some big and timely steels stepping into that passingly.
She just sees the ball.
Oh wow.
- Seven steals now.
Now she steps up to the line.
Staggs down four points.
61 ticks of the clock remaining Just joining us Den Academy is 17 point lead at halftime the Staggs made a one - Score game.
Yeah, no one's.
Both teams have been to this level.
You wonder if that Hamden kind of youth is gonna come into play here where Chevrons has loaded the seniors hit some both timeout call a full - Timeout taken by the stags air crowd can feel it now.
It was all hammered in the first half.
The stags of club almost all the way back with the 1 0 1 remaining through clutch shots on Addie Jordan and she's up to six points now but none bigger - Than those last two.
Yeah Addie Jordan has done a wonderful job on that backside.
You know, seeing that pass so that she can go take it because him to keep trying to throw it past all those traps and getting it to the open player on the backside.
Those fans are going wild and again they're right behind the section or right behind the bench.
So it's probably giving Chevys - Quite the boost And an academy.
This team, again, not many upperclassmen, they did play in a gold ball game last year and many of these players were a part of that program right now.
Collect yourself on the nerves and try to make something out of this next possession, which is absolutely massive - And here comes no shocker.
Service is setting up their pressure that has really caught them back in this game and they're playing this pressure which they do so well with a lot of confidence.
If you're Hamden, you've got to stay out of the corners and stay off the half court line.
- Major inbound play coming here for re Sean Ham Academy Eve Wiles, what's in now?
It's going end Dr and the stags.
A chance of tire take the lead.
Kristen King stops shoots for the tie.
It's short.
Great Hustle by Addie Jordan and it was saved but it went right to Grace Lire who got fouled and make the walk all the way down to the other free throw line where Grace Lire will try to restore two possession lead for her Broncos.
She hasn't both to do so - And these are really the times that you kind of dream about this tight game.
You want that person who wants the ball in their hands and you would think that Senior Grace Re is dying to take these fo shots.
Who wants to be that person for her team?
It's wild inside across this arena and that does not fall.
Grace Stone called and she turns around to her teammates to coordinate their defense, which again is such a leader senior thing to do.
Really doing a nice job of getting them prepared for the next possession.
- This one's huge.
That one will fall for the Breeze show.
This can tie it with a three ally lampson around the Jordan screen.
Kristin King, 30 seconds to go.
King lost the handle at passes back outside to Kelly underneath King two ch timeout fall.
Alby ch his last one.
23.6 seconds remaining ham with a lead but Chevs down 17 is made up 16 of that so they have one more steel in them.
- That was a great ball.
Fake by add Kelly and then to dish it off to King.
I mean really nice again 'cause she knows that Shot Walker and Lagree is coming over and to find that open player and hit her with the right pass in the right spot.
Just stellar.
- Marion Pitney checking back in with Chev.
She's the borderless score today on both sets of fans.
Going crazy here - At 23 and 23 seconds is a long, long time and a lot can happen in what feels like a short amount of time.
- Again.
Chevres Aven their only loss of the season against Benford by coming back in that game.
Fourth quarter Kylie Lampson took over with 14 points at the go ahead.
Three pointer with 59 seconds left.
Will she get a chance to do that here or Camden seal things off over the next 23 seconds.
They have the lead by one point.
They have the arrow and they have the basketball but they also have to inbound with the teeth of that stags pressure.
Yeah - That has been stifled in places and this place is loud on both sides.
Fans are standing - Ready to rock and roll.
That's an outstanding finishes in the tournament this year.
Do we have another one coming here?
Inbound pass Wows is fouled by Abby Kelly.
Stop the clock immediately but that might be the last person you wanna foul then again the stags probably don't have the luxury of wasting time, right?
- Yeah, I mean a nice job to foul early but I don't think that's what Coach Goodman was going for.
I think they were gonna try and get that trap on the front side and maybe a pick.
- Kelly walks up the only girl in perfect.
Take the first of two.
Douglas will not need a three to tie this game.
They need a two to tie.
It depends on this shot from Eve Wildes hits it - Goods the Wildes coming back.
That is a really, really difficult thing to do to miss the first get in a big spot.
Come back and make that second one - Timeout.
Nick Winchester uses his final timeout.
Just a 32nd timeout.
Neither team can stop the clock here in regulation and a chance for Chev with the last possession to steal this game at the death.
They have never landed in this contest.
Not once Ed Academy jumped out to a big leader early on, didn't look back in the first half and Chevres has inch closer and closer and closer through the entirety of the second half and a chance to win it here.
Yeah.
Something - You love to see with both teams right now is that every player, regardless of if they played, if they're on the floor, if they're on the bench, just paying attention in the huddle and is on the same page, making sure that everyone knows what's coming.
- Will it be the Miss Main basketball finalist Kylie Lampson?
Will she get the last shot as he did against Pitiful?
Will it be Kristen King who's got the ball now Was a great game tonight.
Here's King Jefferson did not get a last shot at the end of the first half.
How out now Outside Patty Jordan blocks.
That was Lare again.
Great Stand by Lare.
- That is another block for her at six a Very timely, I think that's the first one for her.
I Kylie Lampson is tied up - Basketball.
See we go as we watching that replay, - He evolve making sure if he did not make contact there, the last thing she wanted to do was follow Kylie Lampson and turn that into maybe a game winning free throw - By somebody who does not miss it.
A stripe.
Yeah and really smart of Wildes not to and you know going into OT you know can carry that momentum But CHS has all the momentum right now and good for Kylie Lampson 'cause she was kind of quiet that first half.
What a time for her?
- 21st point of the game.
Now he's scoring leader in this contest.
Mr.
King was 17, Eve Wildes was 17 over on the other side of the ledger.
Of course Lampson has got four fouls.
Jordan has four fouls and Wiles also has four fouls.
The leading offensive players have to be careful in overtime.
Yeah, no hesitation.
She didn't have much separation there either.
On Eve Walls.
That was a great pass to find her and a great play with all that - Focus on the right hand side.
Kylie sent her others onto the other side of the floor finding herself wide open.
Finishing like a senior wood - Plus 17 for Hamden Academy in the first half, plus 17 for the stags in the second half.
Let's play four more minutes either each team now with one time out.
You got one - More overtime.
Yeah and the other thing to look at is both teams are shooting for fos.
Both teams sitting at five.
- We'll jump it up here to start overtime.
Anna Goodman, grace LaBree for Chev and Hamden Academy respectively.
Seems like some players may have forgotten that we jumped at the beginning of the of overtime.
Their team played overtime in the tournament but they're here now and then controlling the tip as they did on the outset.
She's trying to pressure and almost forth the turnover Blow Adams collision.
Theres two players went sprawling but it results in a turnover in the stags habits.
Could this be she's first lead of the game Lampson around the screen and Miles.
Miles, yeah that's it.
- The eve wilds now lost for the night and Lampson down underneath the basket.
There's a lot going on.
What are you supposed to look at?
- You watch this and here's the foul.
Wait for the ball.
Lampson landing awkwardly but she's all right.
Watson Eve wilds the junior step out of this contest scoring 17 points now the stags played well in the second half without their offensive leader.
Kylie Lampson and the Broncos do the same.
One more chance for Abby Kelly.
- That's a really tough loss for Hampton but like Coach said, I mean they have so many options so they're gonna have to rely on somebody else right now.
- Abby Kelly's third points gives CHS its first lead and it comes in overtime and they steal it underneath.
Rejected - That time it was Kate Adams.
I was gonna say we're used to saying the breeze name but Adams came in on that one.
- A Goodman Inbounding for chs.
They have the lead and the momentum also the ball in the arrow lead.
Just a single points that's stolen by Lab Bridge.
Couldn't save it.
- Good hands.
Good eyes.
Really nice job tipping that pass.
That could have been right over the lamps in - Ali Lance.
He is had a huge second half senior.
You're playing our last main high school basketball game.
Wants to go out with a gold ball.
Got one already two years ago or sophomore year.
Most last year is these Henry Academy Broncos were as well.
Now Chevs killing a little time here.
Add Jordan outside Christian King.
Come on, big, big.
That massive CHS leads by four.
All of a sudden you feel that momentum shift Lare outside Watson.
Now it's Lozier.
Aubrey Shaw Big bucket fans are back and point the two.
Aubrey Shaw eight points now for Aubrey Shaw.
Still two and a half minutes to go.
We're not even halfway through overtime a tremendous tension and drama we have here inside the cross insurance arena.
King trying to put our team on our back.
Goodman steals - The rebounds.
Yeah, it's looking a little like four on four right now with Watson over there.
Face guarding Lampson and I mean King will take it.
- That's the thing.
Base guard lamps and king also a excellent outside shooter.
Yes, again, a team that has a lot of options.
King does have 20 points tonight.
After all, scoop shot Wilco, Abby Kelly handed a Academy Tire.
Take the lead.
Allie Lozier into the corner.
Goodman had her trap trap for a moment that time out.
Call Nick Witch Ez will use his one time out here in overtime.
Overtime can't take him with you.
He wants to set up this offensive possession.
That's a and look to level things or maybe go ahead, buy a point.
What a - Game.
This has been absolutely stellar game and I think that's what everybody was planning on.
Really, really interesting how it started with Hamden getting out to such a heavy lead but credit to chare, they really plowed their way back again with their defensive prowess, which is always, always there for them.
- Sometimes you get battle tested in the game like they did against Benford and you have to come back in a game where you're really on the brink.
You can pay dividends in a game like this one.
Hamden Academy had a similar thing against Cameron Hills.
They started very, very slowly, didn't end all that well but in the in the meantime, got out to a lead and held off the win jammers to win that contest.
Were tested severely in that game so they had their battle stars too.
Yeah, let's see on the X 1 46 plays out 1 46 in.
Boy, I bet it's gonna feel a bit longer.
It's gonna last all night as far as I'm concerned.
This is wonderful basketball and a lot of fun here in Portland.
Glad for joining us and me in public television.
What run here, who they'll go to Down to eight Adams inbound in the basketball for the ladies in Purple Hammer Academy, Broncos a quick Shaw at Aubrey Shaw Close Rine wait session for - The three 15 for Grace Hamlin's gonna step back and stay in their offensive half or their defensive half court, which I think is really smart.
- 90 seconds left in overtime.
King hasnt rejected timely block by the three.
Go home and get your - Shine box as senior.
Just stepping up and doing what she needs to do for her team.
She's been stellar - Sen trying to put Chevs in front.
Its loft line out of nowhere for the rebound that wouldn't fall for Addie Jordan Hammer Academy with a chance to get back on top.
Thought he's all over the floor.
Watson just got up.
So did add Jordan a quick time out because Addie Jordan is hurt.
Oh - Did she call time out?
I believe there's an issue with the she's bench.
I think he's issuing a bench warning - That - Where he - Pointed to Addie Jordan who came up pointing at her knee.
Yeah, they've warned Billy Goodman.
Of course we're across the way.
We can't hear anything that's going on on that side.
Yeah, not gonna hear anything going on.
Three seats down right now the way this noise is Adam's for the lead.
So close now she us' turn now keep this.
That's about as good as the look as you're gonna get again when Adam's let that fly.
She is one of the top three point shooters in the KVAC.
You thought potentially it was a three point lead for handing academy again, just inches away Now it's Kristen King's turn King hounded by Lozier King.
Great pickup by Kate Adams.
Abby Kelly.
48 seconds to go have us with the air in case that's going to matter.
We'll see King back outside around the screen.
Here she comes.
King the floater.
Yes.
Wow.
Shed this by too.
Him can't stop the party.
Here come Theos.
They've lost it.
Poison Jordan to pass that off.
Emma's gonna have to foul and they do.
That's gonna send King to the line and this fouls her third.
Here's on the steps, got the lead a - Smooch off the square.
Boy she has done that so, so well and again they haven't taken it away so she continues to use it.
- There's one for King and the second one will propel shovel.
Saw an awful long way to their third ever state championship.
It's a two story game and that first game has ice and her veins again, Hamden can't stop the clock.
They have to hurry.
Adams Shaw for three.
It's going.
There's still hope for the Broncos.
The clock news ticking.
Goodman just wants to play.
Keep away.
Addie Jordan to the line with 1.5 seconds to go Canada Academy's going to need a miracle.
Now let's look at the three point shots buried by Arbery Shaw - Number 20, Addie Jordan.
Not sure if she called bank but we won't hold that against her tonight.
A switch from Jordan - Really doesn't matter she gets it or not overall except either tie or win situation for hand in the half court.
Heve, they have to hurry.
You're not gonna get rid of shovel.
Sta down 17 and halftime come to win the 2026 class A state championship.
You talking about faith and fortitude, you knew CHS wouldn't go away in the second half, but to have a character to fight back against such a good defensive team like Ham Academy and not just make it interesting in the third and fourth quarter, but to come back force overtime and then win the game.
Yeah, that's something CH snags fans will not forget anytime - Soon.
Boy, I cannot get over Kristen K. She was sensational every time.
CHS a bucket, it looks like it went to her.
- It gained high.

Grace the BRI 15 for ham in Academy Eve.

Yeah, A real special moment for the Goodman's right there.

Yes.
And a great leader for this group.
Usually she's a big shooter for them and it didn't work out for tonight, but she shows up in a lot of other ways and what a special moment for them.
- Tags, fans.
Ecstatic new purple will be the color of royalty.
It goes to the purple team from Portland.
- Yeah, that excitement that shepherds is feeling, it's just, it is just as intense opposite on the other side.
As you watch those poor handed kids, you know sports, they have the ability to bring you to the highest highs and the lowest lows.
That's just part of it.

- There - Are - Two moments you think about when you start the basketball season.
It's getting the gold ball and cutting down the nets.
Well cut the nets down, we'll talk to the champs when we return to Portland.
She stags have won the gold ball in class.

- The environment is just awesome.
- Great campus, small close knit community.
- Everyone's really welcoming.
Everything feels very personal.
You feel like you belong here.
- There's the celebration.
Push the two gold balls, the trophy gate over a little bit and make room for another down there on Ocean Ave as the she stags cutting down the nets.
What an exhilarating feeling that is to climb the ladder.
- Yeah, I mean that is the pinnacle.
That's everything you know, it's what you work for all the way up your whole life.
To have an opportunity to do that.
- One starts the season thinking of this moment.
Only one team gets to do it and chevres at halftime, you really didn't like their chances overall down 17 points.
And you're thinking the way that Mond Academy played defense, even if they went cold shooting the defense would be enough to carry them through it or almost was.
Yeah, whoever's tying it up with a lamps in bucket late and then in overtime getting the lead and holding on, scraping this one out.
63 61.
This win is just a blue collar win.
A gutsy win for the stacks.
- Yeah, it certainly is.
And I mean they've really relied on that suffocating defense to get them back in the game, get 'em some steals, get 'em some buckets, which is what their intent was the whole time.
Good for them for getting it going.
Second half, but boy, what a feeling in overtime too.
Unbelievable.
- Emily Tero, the senior just climbing down, going up.
Naomi Peters, those two players didn't feature in this game.
I point that out because just 'cause you don't play in this particular contest, the value that these players have coming to practice and just, you know, getting the team ready.
Everyone plays a role on, on a basketball team whether or not you're on the score sheet or not.
- Yeah.
And when I talked to Coach Goodman yesterday, he could not say enough about his bench players, about his whole team buying into the vision.
Even if it meant that they had to sacrifice playing time and he, you know, does a really nice job getting everybody bought into the vision and I'm sure that these kids are happy to give up minutes just to hold that gold ball up.
- Kyle Lampson is all ready to swing it.
She's waiting now.
The other one, Anna Goodman's up there on the ladder.
Emily Tetros up there with her as well.
It's gotta be a synchronized swinging of those nets.
That's become the trend over the last at least 15 or 20 years.
Yes, there ISN before that.
Before that, the first person who got up there just started waving it.
I've gonna synchronize one's better.
- Yeah, you gotta do it together.
- That's what dean's all about.
Even if it does make Kylie lamps and wait a little more.
I mean Peters and a signaling tour.
It's almost time.
There she is over there.
Peter's on the right.
Tero in the center.
Kylie Lampson is going to finish the job.
Actually scratch that, she's already finished.
It's Anna Goodman who's ready.
Here we go.
Wave them.
Stags base on Jubilation on the Chevrons ladies.
Oh, to check in with our sideline man Greg Lavinsky is walking over to the Stags celebration.
I think that's probably the best job you can have here at the, at the Cumberland County Civic Center, AKA, the cross insurance arena.
You get to talk to a bunch of ecstatic players at the end of the game and join in the fun of the celebration and take some pictures first over there and then they'll come over to Greg and he can talk to 'em.
But you know, stay outta the picture.
It's one thing you can't do, I guess be the sideline guy.
Show up at the team picture.
That's bad form.
Now for Chevs overall capping off a golden year.
The only thing to beat 'em was Biddeford.
They veed that loss in the semi-finals and got some even bigger revenge in the team that beat them last year.
54 48 right here on this floor.
The South Portland Red riots knocked them off in the regional finals.
Came back to win today to finish the job.
Take a look at the rundown tomorrow as we replay all of our basketball games.
Class C Boys at six Class A girls, s girls at eight class S, boys at 10.
Watch this game again at noon then class A boys at two and the D girls and boys fall at four and 6:00 PM tomorrow.
Ever has saved their memory for posterity.
They've got the photos snapped and once Greg Lavinsky has made his way over with Coach Billy Goodman will send it down to him.
They're gonna try to find a quieter place to talk.
Actually head down off the floor.
Of course they have to put the nets back up for the boys game that's coming up right after this.
Portland and Camden Hills.
- Yeah, I'm very much looking forward to that game.
- That's gonna be a lot of fun.
- Got a vested interest in those bulldogs.
- Know you're a teacher at Portland High School, so see if they can to be, get their first state championships in 2014.
Em Hill is trying to do their first since 2011 back in Class P when they knocked off Cape Elizabeth.
Gregg Lavinsky, once he looks over here we will, we'll queue him up.
He's getting everybody ready as to get the gold ball in the picture as well.
And I think Greg's just about ready.
Let's send it down there.
Speed.
Enjoy it.
Why don't, - One last time Kylie, it was an incredible performance.
You guys are down 18, you come back.
How were you able to pull it off?
- I think we just stuck through with everything we knew.
We had confidence.
We knew that we could come back and beat them.
We've done it before.
I don't know.
It was, it's incredible.
- At the end of regulation, you got loose underneath the basket, Anna found you and you tied it up.
What happened on that play?
- I just found my way to get open.
I was getting face guarded the whole game, so I had to find a way to get open, get that point, tie the game I, we weren't going down right there.
Congratulations.
- Let's get Kristen Ke in here.
The freshman, you were playing at the Father Hayes Center last year.
Now you're the league score in a state final.
Yeah.
How did you have the poise to play so well today?
- I think just like staying together as a team and just being believing in ourselves and staying confident.
Yeah.
- In the overtime you hit a three, you hit a layup, you hit free throws.
What was your mentality going into that final frame?
- Just like trying to win it.
We came so far and I feel like want to finish it the right way?
Yeah.
- Anna, let's get Anna Goodman, get your father Billy in here.
I mean you guys have been doing this a long time.
Yeah.
How does it feel to go out on top?
- This is honestly the best feeling ever doing my dad my senior year.
This means everything to me.
This is how I grew up and I'm happy this is how it ended.
- And coach, what do have to say about doing this with your daughter and all of her friends too?
- All these girls.
All these girls get credit.
Everyone did something this year, all 14 of 'em.
I'm proud of all of them.
- Alright.
Congrats guys.
Enjoy it.
Thank - You.
- Back - To you guys.
Thanks very much.
Greg State championship for the Chev Stags.
