The Northeast's tallest peak is the site of the Mount Washington Weather Observatory, home of the world's worst weather. MWOBS conducts vital weather research and provides critical weather forecasts and other data for people and business in the White Mountains and beyond. These intrepid scientists and volunteers live and work atop the "Rockpile."
